about

I find the sound of the sea, especially waves against the seashore, very relaxing. At St Medan's golf club is a stretch of pebble and rocky beach that is perfect for capturing the sound of the sea quite close up. The rocks are on a reasonable gradient and so you can capture sound for longer periods before the sea rises up to claim your recording equipment. It wasn't the calmest day, but it wasn't too windy either, so the sound of the waves are gentle and regular. In an effort to adhere to the field recordists code, a small dog wandered over whilst I was recording, and I've not taken this out - see if you can spot it.
