about

A few miles from the cottage by the coastal village of Garliston is the Galloway House and gardens, historic seaside gardens occupying a unique, sheltered position on Wigtown Bay. Dating back to 1740, they are set in over 50 acres of designed parkland and complement the beauty of the natural landscape. On one particularly warm and sunny day I visited the gardens hoping to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. So did many other people. There is a "rule" (if you can call it that) amongst field recordists that all traces of humans should be missing from nature recordings, but finding somewhere far enough away from any other human soul is very difficult nowadays. But, this doesn't mean that relaxing and enjoyable recordings cannot be made. Today the English word "quiescent" is used to mean "tranquilly at rest," and this recording captures this very thing, humans and all.

I now release ambient electronic and field recording music under my own name. ... more
